The flutter of Wings

*The flutter of Wings*

I hope everyone's keeping warm!  After 4 years we have finally gotten a freeze here in Houston! Very happy over this and hoping it kills off some of the mosquitos here for spring and summer. They are so bad~ but strange because we don't get much rainfall in spring time and summer. Many times in past I have said how "I miss the snowfalls". I am about to change my thoughts on this! But I think I will always miss the snows to watch and play in. Maybe when we go back to Scotland in wintertime I can finally make a snowhorse..a dream of mine!

Here is what I've been doing.  She's such a pretty Missy isn't she? She will be listed on Etsy for sale at Singingglass my Lampwork page. I guess who ever takes her home will name her!

BEAD HOARDERS BLOG HOP! YAY!

I've joined this wonderful Bead Hoarders Blog Hop!
Super idea by the sweet Lori Anderson of Pretty Things!

Today Saturday 167 Jewellery Designers dug into their Hoarded Jewellery Supplies and stashes and will be showing what they have done with them!

There are some beads though that I will never sell. When you get such precious beads as those and sell them, sometimes another reproduced one will not have the same colourings as the one that you regretfully sold. This I have learned for myself. Some colour patterns just hit me a certain way and I will never give them away or sell them!

Stashes? I've got a bucket load of lovelies..
Just to show a few here..

Here is my Hoarded Stash!
This is a small fraction of my dragons horde!

Jubilee houses

Gaea focals

Tesori Trovati a gorgeousness of polymerclay!

Ok here is what I created!

Who knew? Pigs can fly?!
Well this little Miss Pig can~of course!
She is adorned with some Swarovski crystals, the whole necklace is wire wrapped in brass with coral beads. The clasp is sterling silver. This focal is by Green Girl Studios.

Here I added a Ribbon! I think it was needed..

I made this cuff bracelet with Birgittas Darling little hedgie!
He is incorporated into heavy brass wire with Gaeas stiped bead he has for his tail. Next to that is my Own hand torched Lampwork bead~rust and brown. The cream colour disk was also torched by me. Petras heart is by my hand forged clasp at the end.

Ok I've made a Charm necklace with Gaeas
wonderful charms. Iv'e used a great bicycle chain and a Green Girl Studio clasp at the end. The house bead is from Jubilee and the Diary was created by the lovely Mary Harding. I used a button on my own torched light pink Lampwork.

A Scottish necklace and beads..and happiness!

Sleeping late is so bad. I wonder how many of you do this? The bed calls your name, and your back in it. Such a bad habit, so I'm working on this. (even worse to admit it!) But there's so much to do. Lampwork ~ I burnt my arm with the torch recently, a right good burn. Thankfully its healing well. Hopefully after torching I'll get a little gardening in.  Torching takes time time time.

I've made this necklace and I have to say that I love it!

I call my creation "Valliant" seems fitting reminding me of some sort of Scottish treasure!

*My Lampwork from SingingGlass my Etsy shop I've
  incorporated on this piece.
*Beautiful hand forged focal by Tracy DiPiazza at pipnmolly.
*Wonderful Gaea Beads.
*Cynthia Thornton's Baby bird girl charm.
*Wire wrapped in sterling silver.

Some other really nice beads I've gathered over a period of time when I wasn't blogging..

Monster Farm and alot of beads!

Be careful for your information of what you post!
Something we are all responsible for.
I was looking for some labels on Yahoo images and found this interesting headstone. I thought how neat it was and put it on Face book, thinking maybe it was photo shopped. I kept thinking about the gravestone then did a refined search on Baby Monster. I have since taken it down out of respect for a family that at one time lived and are now passed on.
The Monster family existed. They must of been early pioneers in Washington Seattle Washington. They are in a small grave yard that was found by accident in Saar Pioneer Cemetery Kent, King County, Washington. A whole family of Monsters. Father John C Monster 1861-1920. Anna Marie Nelson Monster the Mother 1851-1890. Daughter Christina Monster Mallory 1810-1903. Then baby Monster 1888 -1889, a very short life for her.
One wonders what their life was like?

Beauty eventually comes from ashes..where have I been?

Where have I been?
All I can say is that beauty comes from Ashes. Its just been a long time for healing~ to stay quiet, not to chase things or people. Just to be. I don't know if you can relate to this. Many are like busy bees all of the time, making creating and producing and I watched them. But I wasn't afraid to leave and do what I had to do. There's so much healing in quietness! I haven't torched in a long time, a year and a half to be exact. I could crawl under the table when I type this! But there's so much to do and learn now! But I've began torching again, and really going to study and practice. Lampwork takes so much time! Oh and the first day back I got a 1st degree burn..all's well though.

I made these the other day whilst torching beads for the Lovely Birgitta Lejonklou. Playing around I made some little things to hang in my daughters kitchen window.

Well in this time being gone many things happened. I was able to see my elderly Mother. I miss my Mother as she is very far away. Here is my Mother and God love her. She is with her great grandchild here. I love this picture

This picture here is sad for me. But it is only Mother in a quiet moment as we all have them. Its called life isn't it?! I will go this summer to see her again. Hopefully my daughter
can come with me!

I am reminded of my Mother when I look at this painting by
Mary Jane Q Cross. Isn't it a beauty? I miss my Mother!
This picture is so tender it about brings tears to my eyes..

During this time we went to Scotland for a funeral in the family. When you go to Scotland its just so almost like set back in time so old~worldy. Here are some pictures you might like to see..

Aberdeen here

This is in the village of Tarves.
I used to walk from my house and shop here when I lived in
Scotland, Notice all the stores are old looking.
You will never see modern looking stores in Scotland.
In the above picture the ugly modern building is rare!
Scotland is truly the land of loveliness!

I loved this cottage!

This field is full of rape a flower
that they make into a useable oil

This was a picture in a clothing store
a men's shop in Aberdeen.
Loved this picture!

We went to Loch Ness

But never saw Nessie a shame really..
would of been nice had she shown her face!
The Loch Ness is so very big and deep.
We went to see a film on the Loch and it was said it was
highly unlikely that Nessie would be living there because of the food
sources so scarce there.
Never mind the cold cold waters as well.
21 miles long and 755 feet deep!

Then there was the funeral of my husbands
Father. It was just yesterday that he was in good health.
Here are my husbands relatives all in their fine attire.
This is common at many family important
occasions to wear a kilt. Mighty spiffing  they are!
Kilts are very expensive to buy or have made.
For a mans kilt it would take 5 to 9 yards of fabric.
And I don't know if they wore underwear under their kilts!
Many are said not to!

And last but not in the least here is the little Love
of my life! Her name is Twinkie.
My Son bought her for me..she's such
a little tornado!

Thank you for coming by..I've missed reading Blogs
and visiting many people..
Maybe I wasn't totally forgotten?!
(inserts smiles...)

PS and yes I am happy!
